Campbell River couple wakes up to find drunk stranger passed out on couch

Remember to always lock your doors before heading to bed.

That’s the message police in Campbell River are trying to get across, after a couple woke up in the middle of the night to find an uninvited guest inside their home.

Constable Maury Tyre says a 20-year-old woman, who had consumed far too much alcohol, wandered in and passed out on the couch.

“Fortunately for the young female, the homeowners were extremely understanding and police were able to find the young lady a safe place to stay without charges,” Tyre says.
