Lighting strikes cause water flow reduction out of John Hart

It was almost like something out of a movie.

A lightning strike near the John Hart facility caused a flow reduction in the Campbell River.
BC Hydro spokesperson Stephen Watson says the static in the air caused the intake gate at the John Hart Dam to close.

Watson says crews reacted as soon as possible.

Watson adds lightning strikes are always going to be a risk that exists. But he ensures the strike has had no impact whatsoever on the ongoing John Hart Generating Station Project.
