Church St. Taphouse gets green light to reopen after employee tests positive for COVID-19

Church St. Taphouse is reopening its doors.

The Comox craft beer pub and restaurant had voluntarily closed for a couple days this week after one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.

Co-owner Chris Morrison gave Vista Radio an update on Thursday night.

“The public health officer has given (us) the green light to reopen tomorrow and we will do so at 5:00pm,” he said.

“We weren’t asked to close down by them, that was our choice. Their analysis has deemed that the public was not compromised at the Taphouse.”

Morrison said the employee who tested positive did not have symptoms at work, but is now in quarantine.

The employee last worked at the Taphouse over a week ago on Tuesday, Oct. 27th from 5:00pm to 11:00pm. and was wearing a mask.

Other employees are getting tested, and will not return to work until, and unless, they test negative.
