Discovery Harbour outbreak over

Island Health has declared the COVID-19 outbreak over at Discovery Harbour long-term care home in Campbell River.

The health authority declared an outbreak at Discovery Harbour on Nov. 19th, after a staff member tested positive for the virus. (One case in a resident or staff is considered an outbreak).

No other cases in residents or staff were identified during follow-up testing.

Upon declaring the outbreak, Island Health says it “took immediate action to support the site in its response to protect the health of all residents and staff.” 

“The team at Discovery Harbour is to be commended for their exceptional work during this challenging time,” Island Health said in a release.

Discovery Harbour is owned and operated by Park Place Seniors Living.
