CVRD pet owners: get your dog license now before fees go up.

It’s that time of year again for dog owners in the Comox Valley.

Dog licenses for 2021 are now available and are valid from Jan. 1st to Dec. 31st next year.

The Comox Valley Regional District requires all dogs over six months old to be licenced every year.

This includes Electoral Area A – Baynes Sound (except Hornby and Denman), Electoral Area B – Lazo North, and Electoral Area C – Puntledge and Black Creek.

If you live in Courtenay, Comox and Cumberland, you must contact their municipal offices to get your licence.

Right now, the cost to licence a spayed or neutered dog is $5 five dollars and $15 for a non-spayed or neutered dog.

Starting Jan 1st, 2021, however dog licence costs will be increasing to $10 for a spayed or neutered dog and $25 for a non-spayed or neutered dog.

“Dog license costs will be increasing starting Jan. 1, 2021,” explains CVRD bylaw compliance manager Amanda Yasinski.
