What colour do you want the 5th Street Bridge to be?

The 5th Street Bridge Project is expected to begin in the spring, and Courtenay is inviting you to choose a colour.

The city says you will have your say on one of three colour options, green, silver, or black.

Courtenay Mayor Bob Wells says while the colour won’t have any financial impact on the project, it will be the face of the downtown, so it should be what the people want.

“The 5th Street Bridge is an iconic part of our downtown and this is a rare opportunity for our residents to tell us if they are fond of the current colour or would like to see something different,” said Wells.

“Even around our Council table this topic generated some friendly discussion, so I’m really curious to see how our community weighs in on this topic.”

You can share your feedback online through the City of Courtenay’s website until January 13th.
