Parent company warns of COVID-19 exposure at Courtenay Thrifty Foods
Thrifty Foods is reporting a COVID-19 exposure at its Courtenay store.
This comes after one of its employees tested positive for the virus.
It happened at the store at 1551 Cliffe Ave.
According to parent company Sobeys, the staff member last worked on Feb. 20th.
Sobeys says it will continue to update its COVID-19 tracker to be transparent with customers “as to where we have been notified of cases of COVID-19 in our stores.”
“Out of respect for our teammates and their confidentiality, we will never release any personal information about our people. We will always do everything we can to support our teammates and ensure their safety,” the company added.
“Where required, we will communicate with customers who have shopped in the impacted location, with store signage, outlining our steps to manage the situation.”
