A legend in local municipal politics has passed away.
At Courtenay City Hall, all flags are flying at half-mast today after former City of Courtenay Mayor George Cochrane died suddenly recently.
Goat News spoke with another former Mayor and former City Councillor, Star Winchester.
Winchester reflected on Cochrane, having recently attended his 80th birthday festivities.

Cochrane served as a Councillor between 1972 and 1981, and was Courtenay Mayor from 1982 to 1990.
