A Comox Valley fighter’s proving to be a champion in and out of the ring.
Chris Anderson, who trains out of the Comox Valley Boxing Club, is the Battlefield Fight League and Hard Knocks Fighting‘s Welterweight champion.
Now he’s helping out an indigenous pygmy tribe in the Congo through the charity Fight for the Forgotten.
He’s trying to raise 35-hundred dollars to build a water well in the Congo for the tribe that have never had access to clean water.
Anderson says the tribe’s traditions and cultures remind him of his own, which is one of the reasons he wanted to help out.
He goes into a bit more detail on the Fight for the Forgotten charity.

Anderson, who holds a record of 9-2 in the octagon, is prepping for a big Welterweight title defense at the River Rock Casino in Richmond on May 30th.
