You and your family are invited to bring the Comox Community Centre to life this month, all in the name of charity.

The centre is hosting a You Are Not Alone (YANA) fundraiser to paint the Community Centre the colours of spring.

Organizers have inked the outlines of spring scenes like a giant colouring book across the building’s windows. You’re invited to fill in the blanks.

Register your family for a 90-minute exclusive timeslot on Tuesday, March 23rd, Wednesday, March 24th or Saturday, March 27th.

All proceeds go to YANA, which offers help to Comox Valley families who need to travel for medical treatment for a child or for a pregnant mother.

Its purpose is to improve access to healthcare by providing travel funding and accommodation.

Child friendly and washable paint, paint brushes, cleaning supplies and drop sheets will be provided at check-in.

Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.

When you return the painting kit to reception you’ll receive a take home Easter goodie bag.

“It is great to see the Comox Community Centre and YANA pivot due to COVID to offer this unique Easter fundraiser in replace of the popular Eggstravaganza event that is typically held in Marina Park each year,” said Comox Mayor, Russ Arnott.

“YANA plays an important role in the community, and we encourage Comox families to register and celebrate the season together at this Spring Fling, while supporting an excellent cause.”

Registration is by donation, starting at $10.

Tax receipts are available for donations over $20.

You can register your timeslot at www.comox.ca and click the YANA event hyperlink.

Strict COVID-19 protocols are in place.
