The regional district says once the design is finalized, Comox Strathcona Waste Management will move ahead with development and building permits, with construction set to start next summer.

The $15.5 million project, which will be built at the Campbell River Waste Management Centre, will allow for curbside organics collection for over 30,000 homes in Campbell River, Comox, Cumberland and Courtenay.
