CVRD lifts Stage 3 water restrictions

You can water your lawn again.

Stage 3 water restrictions were lifted this morning for the Comox Valley Water System.

This comes as work on a section of main water pipe was completed three days earlier than planned. The pipe is back in use and regular monitoring will continue.

The restrictions started Tuesday and were supposed to be in place until Sunday.

They  had applied to Comox, Courtenay, and the Comox Valley Water Local Service Area.

“Regular monitoring of this section of water main helps us identify potential issues early. It allows for time to plan the repair, which hopefully cuts down on the impact to the system users,” said Mike Herschmiller CVRD’s manager of water services. “I would like to thank everyone involved in the two phases of work and for the public compliance during these Stage 3 water restrictions.”

When State 3 is in place, things like lawn watering, washing a vehicle at home, and pressure washing driveways and boulevards are not allowed.
