A Comox Valley woman is in the hospital after being hit by a truck over the weekend.
The Comox Valley RCMP confirm that on Sunday around 3:05 pm a 71-year old woman was crossing the street at Anderton Road and Comox Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle turning right.
Police say the driver remained at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation. They also say driver impairment is not being considered a factor in the collision.
Our newsroom reached out to B.C Emergency Health Services for more information and they told us that the woman “sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted by our critical care paramedic team to a higher level of care facility.”
The Comox Valley RCMP Municipal Traffic Unit is continuing the investigation and police say the 71-year-old woman remains in hospital.
