Campbell River RCMP seize drugs & cash from local 18-year-old

Campbell River RCMP says the “allure of easy money” continues to drag young people into the drug underworld.

“Unfortunately, it’s something that seems to be happening more and more in the drug trade, as younger people are recruited by gangs and larger suppliers,” Cst. Maury Tyre explains.

This comes after Campbell River’s Street Crimes Unit seized drugs, cash, and a truck from a local man this past Wednesday (May 12th).

Tyre says the 18-year-old was arrested for alleged drug trafficking, just as he was meeting with another man in Willow Point Park.

The arrest led to the seizure of 33 grams of crack cocaine, 15 grams of powder cocaine, over $11,000 cash, a replica AR-style rifle, and a 2014 GMC Sierra pickup truck.
