Pilot walks away from crash landing at Courtenay Airpark

A small plane overshot the runway at the Courtenay Airpark tonight in a landing mishap, smashing through the fence at the end of the runway.

Goat News spoke with local resident Willie Wagner at the airpark, he says he spoke with a witness to the crash landing.

Wagner says this could have been much, worse…

Meanwhile Goat News approached the male pilot a few times for a comment on the crash, who responded way across the tarmac through the fence, “Not now”.

It appears nobody was injured in the incident, and yellow Fire Department tape was strung over the broken fence which was leaning heavily from the impact of the crash. The plane appeared to suffer very minor damage. A 19 Wing Cormorant helicopter was seen taking off from the crash area.
