The City of Courtenay is offering a place to cool down for the homeless and the inadequately sheltered.
In partnership with the CV Transition Society, it has set up a cooling centre at the Florence Filberg Centre (upstairs Conference Hall).
It’s open Saturday to Tuesday from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
COVID Safety requirements in place including masks & physical distancing.
Other options for those looking to beat the heat include:
- Water Park: During the heat wave, the Water Park in Lewis Park will have extended hours and be open from 9:00am until 8:00pm.,
- Wading Pool: The wading pool at Lewis Park is available to be pre-reserved for one hour time slots by family (maximum eight family members), for $5/family, and the
- Lewis Park Outdoor Pool: All activities at the pool need to be reserved in advance. For pool schedules visit courtenay.ca/pool
