Cooling centres, water parks abound in Comox Valley

Looking for a place to place to beat the heat?

There are plenty to choose from in the Comox Valley.

A heat warning is in effect and Environment Canada is advising daytime highs will be near 30 C, combined with overnight lows in the mid to upper teens today through Saturday night.

The Comox Valley Regional District and its municipal partners says if you don’t have adequate shelter, or just want to cool off, to consider these options:

Comox Fire Hall Outdoor Cooling Mist Station (1870 Noel Ave)

Daily 11 am – 5 pm, as well as a dog bowl for four-legged friends

Comox Rotary Splash Park, Marina Park (127 Port Augusta St)

Open daily 10 am – 8 pm

Cumberland Village Park, Water Spray Park

Open daily 10 am to 7pm

People are encouraged to drink plenty of water, even before feeling thirsty and to stay in cool places.
