Seasonal service changes for the Regional  District of Nanaimo Transit System

BC Transit and the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) are announcing a seasonal  service change in the Regional District of Nanaimo Transit System effective Sunday, September 5, 2021.

The organizations say this seasonal service change will reinstate service levels on several routes to coincide with the start  of the school year. They say it will also increase connections between routes and amend the Route 25 ferry shuttle to  align with BC Ferries’ Departure Bay – Horseshoe Bay schedule.

The service change will include some extra trips on routes:

1 Downtown/Country Club

5 Fairview

11 Lantzville

15/15A VIU/Woodgrove

20/20A Hammond Bay/Dover

30 NRGH

40 VIU Express

92 Hammond Bay

BC Transit also reminds customers that beginning September 1, 2021, all children 12 and under can ride BC Transit for free. More information on that program is available here
