The fall rains have enabled BC Hydro to increase flows in the Puntledge River, and as a result the CVRD is downgrading water restrictions to Stage 1.
The reductions also apply to the Black Creek – Oyster Bay (BCOB) Water Local Service Area, as the rain has also replenished the Oyster River.
For the time being, Royston and Union Bay remain on Stage 2 restrictions. The CVRD says it will alert residents of those communities when water sources are replenished enough in these areas to decrease restrictions.
Stage One is the lowest level, but it still places restrictions on the days, and times of day, that residents can water the lawn.
For even-numbered you can water on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 5:00am to 8:00am, and 7:00pm to 10:00pm.
It’s the exact same hours for odd-numbered addresses on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Washing things like cars and windows is allowed, as long as your sprayer shuts off when you’re not using it.
