The MIKI’SIW Métis Association and Indigenous Women’s Sharing Society are working together to host the event on Sept. 30th, which is the  National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

They are encouraging people who want to participate to wear orange “to remember Indigenous children and families affected by Indian Residential ‘schools’ and other child apprehension programs.”

Participants will register at Harmston Park at 6th Street and Harmston Ave., to receive the map of the predetermined walking route.

It’s happening anytime from noon to 7:00pm.

Participants are asked to walk in small COVID friendly groups as they do the route in downtown Courtenay.

Call 250-871-7353 for more information.
