Habitat VIN auctioning custom shed to raise money for affordable housing in Campbell River and Courtenay

Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North (Habitat VIN) is auctioning off a custom shed to raise money for their new affordable housing projects in Campbell River and Courtenay .

The shed was put together by volunteers and used for Habitat VIN’s floats in the Downtown Campbell River Business Improvement Association (BIA) Big Truck Parade and the Downtown Courtenay Christmas Parade.

The action will help finance a 20-home development on 461 Hilchey Road in Campbell River and a 12-home project on 1375 Piercy Avenue in Courtenay.

“We were storing the shed at the Campbell River ReStore and had lots of interest in it from customers,” said Alison Liebel, community engagement manager for Habitat VIN. “We realized it was the perfect opportunity to raise some funds and some Christmas cheer at the same time.”

People can currently see the shed at the Courtenay ReStore.

The auction will kick off Monday and will finish on Dec. 15.

More information about the shed and bids can be placed at charityauction.bid/habitatshed.
