Comox Valley RCMP still looking for woman missing for 6 months

Comox Valley RCMP is asking for information on the whereabouts of 30-year-old Ami Guthrie.

Guthrie has been missing for more than six months, according to police. They say she was last seen on Jun. 2nd.

Guthrie’s mother, Karin, recently put out a video statement, urging her daughter to get in touch with someone and let them know she’s safe.

“We miss you. Please get in touch with somebody,” implores Karin Guthrie, Ami’s mother in the statement.

Officers along with the Special Victims and Major Crimes units have been looking at evidence including bank and phone records and social media history, according to a press release.

They say they have also sought assistance from other police services and interviewed potential witnesses.

“We won’t stop looking for Ami until we find her,” said Cst. Shana Macquarrie, Comox Valley RCMP Special Victims Unit. “We are committed to finding out what happened so we can get answers for her friends and family.”

She’s described as being five feet, seven inches tall and around 130 pounds.

Police ask if anyone sees Guthrie, or knows where she may be to call the Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321, or call Comox Valley Crime Stoppers.
