BC Hydro has released a public safety advisory to avoid the Puntledge River.
Stephen Watson, BC Hydro stakeholder engagement advisor says river flows are high and dangerous.
The Comox Lake Reservoir was at approximately 133 m Monday, which is 2.3 m less than the dam’s overflow spillway.
Watson says inflows may go up to a daily average of about 200 m3/s on Wednesday and Thursday.
BC Hydro may increase flows up to 175 m3/s during low tides if inflows are higher than expected.
Safety signs are being placed in the area.
