Comox Valley municipalities close areas, advise of maintenance

Closures and maintenance in Comox and Cumberland may mean a change in commute or different weekend activity in January.

The town of Comox will be doing trail upgrades to the Lazo Marsh area until Jan. 31 as crews replace a boardwalk.

The town is asking people to follow the direction of crews and avoid the area.

In other areas of town, a contractor will be doing work between 323 and 347 Butchers Rd. and within the cul-de-sac of Painter Place from Jan. 16 to 20.

The Town of Comox says there will be occasional alternating traffic and sidewalk closures. They are asking motorists to follow all traffic guidance.

The Village of Cumberland will also be doing road repairs to potholes that showed up after the snow. They are asking motorists to drive with care as the roads are fixed.
