Looks like another telephone scam is making the rounds in the Comox Valley.
RCMP Constable Don Sinclair says it appears that thieves are looking to find out when the homeowner won’t be home so they can break in to your residence.
Police say several telephone calls have been fielded by residents from somebody wishing to service or sell a vacuum cleaner, asking exactly when the homeowner will be around.
Local RCMP are investigating, but strongly advise all residents not to give out any personal information over the phone unless you have verified with the company the caller is in fact legitimate.
