RCMP seek information after man shot in leg

Comox Valley RCMP are looking for information after they say a man reported being shot.

RCMP say they got a call around 12:30 a.m. on July 30, with a man reporting he had been shot in the leg in the 2000-block of Wallace Road in Comox.

They say he was waiting for police and medical assistance.

Officers seized a double barrel shotgun and the 41-year-old man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police. They say he is expected to recover.

Comox Valley RCMP media relations officer Cst. Monika Terragni says RCMP do not have evidence to suggest any ongoing risk to the public and everyone involved is known to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 and refer to file 2022-11587.
