Fire danger rating high to extreme

The region’s fire danger rating is holding steady at high, for much of the region…that from Coastal Fire Centre spokesperson Marg Drysdale, as warm dry weather continues.

Drysdale says fortunately no major forest fire activity has broken out in our neck of the woods.

Drysdale urges people not to let their guard down with these tinder conditions…

Drysdale reminds smokers to be extra careful in discarding their cigarettes. Fire crews in the region have responded to several illegal campfires and a number of bush fires, but nothing serious so far this season.
