Powering through the Country Roads Marathon

Toughness. That’s one of the words that comes to mind when talking about the participants in today’s Country Roads Marathon.

Athletes were put to the test in the Comox Valley! Droves of walkers and runners showed up for the full and half marathons, as well as the relay race.

One of the runners, Melissa Hazel, showed true grit…fighting through injuries during the event.

The event started up and concluded at the GP Vanier track in Courtenay.

Funds raised went towards the Vancouver Island Crisis Society suicide prevention programs. For more information on the Country Roads Marathon, visit countryroadsmarathon.com.
