A hold and secure at Mark Isfeld Secondary School ended this afternoon and police say there was no threat to students.
Comox Valley RCMP media relations officer Monika Terragni says officers responded to a report at around 1:20 this afternoon that a weapon might have been inside the school.
Terragni says the school was placed under hold and secure while officers investigated. Officers found there was no risk to the students and staff, according to Terragni.
In an email, SD71 says they would like to thank all students and staff for their understanding. Communications coordinator Craig Sorochan says everyone was safe.
RCMP are continuing their investigation.
