Trail clearing has begun in Solport Park in Cumberland.
Trails are being realigned to provide sustainable grades and will be made wider, with the goal of providing access for all non-motorized users.
The Village of Cumberland says workers are building a new trail that will be a loop path through the park.
Trails in the park may be closed during the work and signs will be installed.
An existing trail is also being turned into a child-friendly bike route.
The project is scheduled to be finished by mid-October.
A public outreach campaign in 2020 showed that trail improvements were a priority in the community.
