Remembrance Day ceremonies to be held in Comox Valley towns

The Town of Comox, Village of Cumberland and City of Courtenay will have Remembrance Day ceremonies tomorrow.

Legion Branch 160 in Comox, Branch 17 in Courtenay and Branch 28 in Cumberland will hold the ceremonies.

The Town of Comox says a portion of Comox Avenue, between Nordin and Ellis streets, will be closed to traffic from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Parking will not be available from today at 4 p.m. until tomorrow at noon.

The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. with the wreath-laying at 10:45 a.m. and a fly-pass at 11:05 a.m.

Courtenay will not have parking at Jubilee Square and on Cliffe Avenue between 4th and 3rd streets after tomorrow at midnight.

The ceremony will begin with a parade at 10:30 a.m., with a service at 10:50 a.m. and a fly-past at 11:05 a.m. followed by the laying of the wreaths.

Cumberland’s ceremony will begin shortly before 11 a.m. with Dunsmuir Avenue closed to traffic between 4th and 5th streets from 10:30 a.m. to 11:40 a.m.

Town, village and city offices will be closed for Remembrance Day.
