Comox Valley, Campbell River public schools closed because of unsafe conditions

It is a snow day for schools in the Comox Valley and Campbell River today after heavy snow and wind yesterday.

Both School Districts 71 and 72 say the schools are closed for the day, particularly because of side street and sidewalk conditions.

All district programs and facility rentals are also cancelled in Campbell River, including this evening.

SD 72 says if your group had reserved one of the district’s facilities, you should contact the school board office receptionist to reschedule or get a refund.

Both districts ask parents and students to be safe.

North Island College announced this morning all campuses will be closed for the rest of the day. Communications officer Elizabeth Young adds all classes have been cancelled, the latest updates can be found here.
