Busy times for Comox Valley Project Watershed, installing a culvert in the Courtenay Estuary near the Airpark Café to restore salt marsh habitat.
The work is part of their ongoing blue carbon project with North Island College.
Project Watershed Estuary Coordinator Jennifer Sutherst, says the culvert will actually change the flow, between the river and the estuary.
Sutherst says the enhanced water flows will greatly improve rearing habitat conditions for local fisheries in the Courtenay Estuary.
The project will take up to a maximum of two weeks, however Sutherst says so far they are ahead of schedule.
