This summer, you can honour aboriginal women in North America with Walking With Our Sisters.

They’re set to be at the K’omoks Band Hall from July 31st to August 15th.

Now what exactly is this group? Spokesperson Ramona Johnson was recently in Courtenay and says they’re a memorial for missing and murdered aboriginal women in North America.

Johnson adds they’ve got quite a few events in the coming weeks. They will be taking part in National Aboriginal Day on June 21st and the following day, they will be hosting a blanket exercise.

And on July 4th, Walking With Our Sisters hosts Empowering Our Spirit, a fully packed day.

For a full list of events, you can check out their website or Facebook page.
