Coffee with a 9-1-1 Dispatcher hiring event in Courtenay this week

If you’ve ever wanted to know more about 9-1-1 dispatchers and what it’s like to be one, Comox Valley RCMP is giving you the opportunity.

They’re hosting a get-together called “Coffee with a Dispatcher” this Friday. The event is for people to meet with a dispatcher to learn more about the role that they play in public safety.

A recruiter with the Island’s 9-1-1 Police Dispatch Centre, Jaclyn says that she’s excited to talk about her job.

“I am excited to share why I love coming to work as a 9-1-1 Police Dispatcher and how rewarding it is to play a big role in keeping our community safe,” she says.

The Comox Valley RCMP says that Jaclyn will be at the Bean Around The World coffee shop where people can meet with her on Friday, January 20th from 9 am to 1 pm and Monday, January 23rd from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

You can find more information on how to book an appointment on their website.
