Well we now know what sparked up that massive barn fire at a Headquarters Road dairy farm in North Courtenay.
We spoke with Courtenay Fire Department Deputy Fire Chief Kurt MacDonald, who says the inferno is linked to a farm vehicle inside the barn.
MacDonald says determining the exact nature of that mechanical malfunction, is not going to happen
Although all the farmhands in the barn managed to escape the blaze, about 50 cows were killed in the huge fire.
