Nominations are being accepted for the Town of Comox’s second annual Youth Recognition Awards.
Submissions are open until April 14, with the goal of nominating young people between 12 and 24-years-old for their contributions to the community, according to the town.
“There is a community of young people actively making positive contributions in Comox through volunteerism, recreation, arts, science and civic engagement,” said Comox mayor Nicole Minions.
“Youth deserve to be recognized for their efforts and achievements to make Comox a better place. You can support this by actively participating in the nomination process.”
Recreation programmer Laura Weston adds last year’s event makes them want to recognize even more youth for their hard work.
“These awards are about highlighting Comox youth following their passions, overcoming personal challenges and impacting our community in meaningful ways,” said Weston.
There will be a week of celebrations from May 1 to 7 and a recognition dinner will be held on May 5.
