Comox to celebrate its 1 millionth fitness studio visitor

Comox will have a big milestone to celebrate as it welcomes its one millionth visitor to its fitness studio since its renovation.

The town is inviting the community to celebrate on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The renovations were done in 2011, and mayor Nicole Minions says it could not have been achieved without its staff and community.

“This milestone could not have been achieved without the support of our loyal customers and the newcomers we have welcomed over the last several years,” said Minions. “It feels great to thank them for continuing their fitness routines at the community centre since the renovation in 2011.

“Our customers are our friends, our neighbours, the people who become an extension of our family.”

Recreation director Ted Hagmeier echoes Minions’ comments, adding the visitor signifies the centre’s importance to the community.

“It is the staff, both past and present, who dedicated their time and hard work to providing excellent customer service and a safe and clean facility who made this all possible,” said Hagmeier.

“The one-millionth visitor proves that the centre is an essential service, not just for the physical aspect, but also for offering our community a healthy consistency of day-to-day routines and services.”

Anyone visiting on Tuesday can enter their name to win a one- or six-month, or one-year membership.
