UPDATE: Power restored to more than 1,400 in the Comox Valley

— 4 p.m.—

Power has been restored to all residents as of 4:15 p.m.

Over 1,400 customers in Comox Valley are without power with windy conditions.

According to BC Hydro, most of the outages are in Comox and Courtenay, with 1,401 customers without power north of Guthrie Road, east of Lerwick Road and south of Wilkinson Road. They say the outages are because of a downed tree across power lines.

Another 82 people north of Courtenay had lost power for the same reason and crews are on-site. BC Hydro says power is expected to be restored between 3 and 3:30 p.m.
