UPDATE: 5th Street bridge closed after vehicle rolls

5th Street bridge is closed after what looks like a vehicle rolled over.

Witnesses say fire, ambulance and police are on scene along with a tow truck and the vehicle is back on four wheels.

Comox Valley RCMP are asking drivers to avoid areas of the Comox Valley as a wind storm hits the area.

RCMP say a section of Ryan Road has been blocked off after a tree fell across BC Hydro lines.

Police say the area is in the 3300-block of Ryan Road between Anderton Road and the memorial parkway. They add traffic is backed up and there is no estimated time for reopening.

According to the BC Hydro outage map, 1,381 customers are without power because of the incident as of 1:30 p.m.

RCMP add Bates Road near Seal Bay has been closed in both directions after a tree fell just sound of Anson Road. They add drivers are being diverted at Coleman Road.

A further 768 BC Hydro customers have lost power due to the incident.
