Comox Valley RCMP says that Josie Van Der Elst has been located, and she is safe and sound.

They thank the media and public for their assistance.

The Comox Valley RCMP is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 40-year-old woman.

Josie Van Der Elst was last seen in Union Bay on April 18th, wearing a red backpack and riding a bicycle.

She’s described as 5-foot-6 tall, weighing 120 pounds, with green eyes and long dark wavy hair.

Media Relations Officer for the Comox Valley RCMP, Monika Terragni says that it’s unusual for Josie to go for this long without contacting family or friends.

“She has connections in Victoria and may have headed in that direction if she is no longer in the Comox Valley,” says Terragni.

If anyone has seen or knows where Josie may be, they are encouraged to call Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321.
