Stage 1 restrictions in effect for Cumberland water system

Water restrictions are officially in effect for the Village of Cumberland’s water system today.

These restrictions usually come into effect this time of year, according to the Village.

Those living on even-numbered addresses are allowed to do lawn sprinkling from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays while odd-numbered addresses get Thursday’s and Sundays.

For new lawns, residents may go and apply for a permit that would allow them to water outside of the allowed days, but within the hours allowed by the restrictions.

Exceptions to these restrictions are for those who aren’t able to water their property in those days and times due to either mental or physical reasons, along with farms, and nurseries.

Unless otherwise, these restrictions are set to last until September 30th.
