SAR crews search for missing Comox Valley hiker

Comox Valley Search and Rescue crews are among several teams currently looking for 69 year old Sylvia Apps, a Comox Valley woman who went for a solo hike in the Strathcona Park area, but didn’t return back to camp when expected on Sunday.

Comox Valley Ground Search and Rescue President Paul Berry says a massive search throughout Strathcona Park is now underway.

Sylvia Apps is described as 5’3 and 120 lbs, with shorter length brownish and gray hair and glasses.

Berry is appealing to any hikers in that area that may have run into Apps to give them, or the RCMP a call with any information they may have.

Of course, if you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Sylvia Apps, please contact the Comox Valley RCMP at 250-331-4033.
