BC Ferries warns passengers to leave the booze behind

BC Ferries says a few too many people are deciding to crack a holiday beverage at the terminal or on the boat.

So far this month, Ferries has called police to a terminal 15 times because they suspected a passenger was impaired by booze or drugs.

Deborah Marshall of BC Ferries says they do see a spike in that sort of bad behavior at the beginning of every summer. She also says passengers who see something that concerns them, shouldn’t hesitate to talk to a crew member.

Marshall also says they’ve had incidents on both the big routes, as well as the minor runs to Denman, Hornby and Thetis.
