Courtenay man wins $1 million from Lotto 6/49

A Courtenay resident is walking away with $1 million from Lotto 6/49.

Eddy Berrouard bought a ticket from a lottery kiosk at Driftwood Mall, and eventually found out he won while having a coffee at his home.

“I noticed there were a lot of zeros in the number,” says Berrouard. He adds that his siblings and co-workers were happy when he told them the news.

With the money, he plans on visiting his family in Quebec, buy a car, and watch baseball games in Seattle and Colorado.

“I will also share some winnings with my family to make sure they get to go on nice holidays as well.”
