Taking the bus could be more convenient for you: The replacement of NextRide technology is now complete.
The replacement saw New Automatic Vehicle Location hardware installed on 17 buses in the Comox Valley Transit System, in the hopes of improving reliability for transit users.
BC Transit says with this replacement, you can use smart mobile devices and desktop services to see the real-time location of your bus and when it’ll arrive at a stop.
It will also help Transit manage road incidents and send alerts out in case of detours, accidents, or anything else that could delay the buses.
With the NextRide desktop trip planning tool now unavailable, you are advised to use the Transit App, Google Maps, or your personal trip app for the next time you take the bus.
