A fatal fire in Oyster Bay remains under investigation.
According to Bruce Green, Fire Chief of the Oyster River Fire department, they received a call about at 5:30 pm Monday afternoon that a fifth wheel RV was on fire.
He says 30 firefighters from the department were dispatched to deal with the fire.
“By the time the engine arrived on scene, it took us 10 minutes to get the fire knocked down,” said Green.
“We were there for another two hours mopping up, and making sure that the fire was out.”
Green says a person inside the RV, died.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
