Campbell River BC Highway Patrol hands out six driving prohibitions over five hours

BC Highway Patrol in Campbell River say six drivers were given prohibitions in a five-hour period at the start of November.

They say they were in an area near Courtenay looking for high-risk driving between 4:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Nov. 4.

Officers add the prohibitions were given for alcohol and a 12-hour driving prohibition for a driver with a novice licence in and around the Courtenay area.

Other prohibitions ranged between three and 90 days pending on the blood alcohol concentration and all of them included vehicle impoundments. Officers add learner and novice drivers are required to have a 0 blood alcohol concentration at all times while driving.

Staff Sgt. Adam Tallboy says they will continue to target drivers who put themselves and others at risk by driving impaired.
