Everyone Deserves A Smile needs help to help others

After 20 years serving the Comox Valley, a local campaign to help the homeless stay warm is still going strong.

Everyone Deserves A Smile is a campaign that focuses on helping those in need by distributing care packages to people experiencing homelessness, with 22 schools taking part this year.

According to School District 71, while the campaign has expanded to school districts in Campbell River, Port Alberni, Nanaimo, and qathet, they are still in need of donations.

They are looking for Woolen socks, XL-sized toques, and scarves for 900 men and non-binary people, along with woolen socks, medium-sized toques, and scarves for 500 women.

You can donate in-person at multiple locations in the Valley, which includes:

  • Ecole Puntledge Elementary
  • Comox Community Centre
  • Vancouver Island Regional Libraries in Comox, Courtenay, and Cumberland
  • Starbucks, Near Boston Pizza Location:
  • Uptown Yarns
  • Coastal Community Credit Union, Near Superstore
  • Evergreen Club in the Florence Filberg Centre
  • RE/MAX Realty, Courtenay
  • Studio IPF: Inner Pursuit Fitness

The district adds they hope to get these items by December 5, before they prepare their packages on December 7 and 8.
