The provincial championships have come and gone, and the Comox Valley wrestlers had an impressive showing.
To wrap up the season the School District 71 squad took part in the BC School Sports Provincial Championships in Vancouver last weekend, where out of 136 schools in the girls division the GP Vanier team made it to third place.
Unya Hollyamer took home her second consecutive gold medal after making four pins in under three minutes. Meanwhile Alice Clements won her second silver medal.
For the rest of the girls, Jolina Healey made it to sixth place, while Alexis Acton and Kylie Cameron-Patterson both came up one win each from making it to the top six respectively.
For the boys team Jacob Price placed fifth after winning six out of eight matches, Ryan Nasadyk reached the semi-finals, finishing at sixth place.
According to the district, the whole team won a combined 31 matches throughout that weekend.
